HYDERABAD MONUMENTS CHARMINAR
Charminar is the most impressive monument of Hyderabad and a flamboyant piece of architecture. The famous Charminar in Hyderabad was constructed in 1591 AD by Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah, the founder of Hyderabad, in memory of his wife Bhagmati.
GOLCONDA FORT
Golconda Fort is an extraordinary monument of Hyderabad, built in the 13th century by the Kakatiya kings. The present structure of the Golconda Fort was renovated by Qutub Shahi kings into a massive fort.
BUDDHA STATUE
An 18 meter high monolithic statue of Lord Buddha towers over the lake from atop the Rock of Gibraltar. The monolithic statue was chiselled out of a white granite rock, weighting 450 tons. It was carved by 200 sculptors for two years.
CITY OF PEARLS
Hyderabad acquired the sobriquet 'City of Pearls', due to the benevolent patronage of the Nizams who ruled the then princely state of Hyderabad.
